Peter A. Kirsch

Peter Kirsch serves as Chief of Staff for the Offices of James V. Kimsey, Founding CEO and Chairman Emeritus of America Online. He oversees all operations for James Kimsey, from private investments, venture capital, diplomatic relations to international philanthropy. His responsibilities include portfolio management of investments and companies, ranging from start-up technology companies to entertainment companies to government services companies in the security industry, particularly in the Washington DC region.

Mr. Kirsch travels to Bosnia where he advises the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP) for the U.S. Department of State, which raised more than 10M to assist in the identification of more than 40,000 missing in the Balkans, and for the past five years the ICMP was instrumental in building a state of the art organization that boasts the best DNA technology in the world. He also has traveled to Iraq to assess and create the framework for ICMP building a program in Iraq.

Before joining Kimsey's office, Kirsch was President, Platformix Inc., a Northern Virginia based "start-up" company providing web based applications. He helped raise more than $5M before being recruited to join Jim Kimsey's office. Prior to Platformix, Kirsch served on the staff of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) for 11 years, four as their CEO. ASLA is a large non-profit association representing more than 15,000 members with an annual budget of more than 8M. Kirsch lead ASLA through explosive growth with the purchase of two private companies and their 100 year anniversary in which they developed and implemented more than 100 inner city planning and community development projects across the country.

In addition to Kirsch's work with James V. Kimsey, he works with many for-profit and non-profit organizations which include: Board of Advisors for America's Promise; Chairman of the Board of Greater DC Cares; Board of Advisors for Adeptron Technology Corporation, VideoNext; and Xtone; Chairman of the Investment Committee, Longstreet Partners, and Advisor to Triple Canopy.
